Producing and marketing oil and gas
Adzhip Karachaganak B.V. Processing Complex: This facility processes oil condensate from Unit 2 and 44 production wells. Slug-catchers are used to separate the gas and oil. Four stabilization trains process the oil feed before it is sent to Atyrau via the export pipeline to be sold on global markets. The fourth liquid stabilization and sweetening train, which was finished in 2011, was built to produce more stabilized and sweetened liquids for high-end western markets.
The Adzhip Karachaganak B.V. inlet facilities will be expanded, along with about 13 new wells, as part of the fourth stabilization train. Other features include an additional set of export and booster pumps for condensate, two infield pipelines with tie-ins to Unit 3 and EOPS, and an additional sorb gas export compressor.
Two streams separate from the gas phase. One supplies sweet gas for the neighborhood market and fuel gas for the field’s power station, feeding the sweetening plant. The second stream is sent to Unit 3 for export to Orenburg, or Unit 2 for re-injection.
Unit 2
Unit 2 is a special kind of multipurpose building. It can produce oil, separate, process, and re-inject high pressure sour gas. Before export, it can transport the oil to Adzhip Karachaganak B.V. for stabilization. Unit 2 is fed by 21 incoming production wells.
Unit 2 has one of the world’s highest pressure sour gas injection systems in place.Gas can be injected at a pressure of up to 550 bar with a high H2S concentration of up to 9% using three compressors.
The effectiveness of this gas injection strategy has been demonstrated by its ability to maintain partial pressure, enhance liquid recovery, and remove the requirement for sulfur extraction, all of which have a positive impact on the environment.
Unit 3
Since its opening in 1995, the Unit 3 facility has been processing gas and oil condensate from 28 incoming wells, separating and partially stabilizing the mixture before exporting it via pipeline to the Orenburg Processing Plant in Russia. Additionally, a nearby privately operated facility receives unstabilized condensate for treatment. Liquid treatment system that enables reconditioning of water-based mud used in top hole drilling operations, recycling of brines needed for workover operations, and treatment of hydrocarbon-contaminated water.
